      • Manage / oversight of personnel / work schedules for hundreds of personnel including: operations, networking, systems engineers, capacity management, and database engineers, with direct reports of program management for >100s of applications / system deployments for US-based (CA, NV, OR, NC) and worldwide sites; management of budgets of >$25M CapEx / OpEx (per program); lead measurable employee growth within innovation, teamwork, and results

      • Designed / managed deployment of fault-tolerant, high-availability network / server architecture supporting >1 billion aggregated user-authentication requests, including design, procurement, and installation of 40 distributed and discrete compute-clusters comprised of network and server clusters within four data centers in active-active mode; tested simulated traffic to demonstrate capability to exceed 10x normal load for internal and external identity management functions, including holiday sales traffic historically for four years within key company expansion periods
      • Developed solution that aggregated global log files for business metrics used to diagnose at risk systems, isolate / resolve system technical issues; implemented (20) Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) circuits for dedicated network traffic
      • Worked with DevOps and business groups to develop, design, and deploy cloud-based, anti-fraud, management system with artificial intelligence (AI)-machine learning and commodity-based server nodes, resulting in cost savings from reduced fraud; innovated a cost effective way to centralize versus distribute processing load resulting in scalable systems

      • Managed personnel including: system engineers, network engineers, site services and change management performing patch management, production launches, data center troubleshooting / developed first of kind distributed enterprise project management system based on Microsoft Project Server used by hundreds of IT staff nation-wide
      • Responsible Production Data Center program management for California (from Newark, CA site); coordinated and liaised with California state government representatives for services: managed hundreds of servers during full lifecycle, including purchasing, deployment and retirement; results were cost savings through hardware consolation and 25% increased allocation efficiency of servers, including savings via reduction in overhead costs
      • Created Data Center process improvement and strategic IT upgrades to critical Microsoft-Server based 24x7 systems (customized Microsoft Project Server implementation) with zero downtime, optimizing resource prioritization, increasing system engineer productivity by 20% and program portfolio management efficiency by 40%; implemented centralized time / project tracking system to compare / forecast work-hours at task level; reports with metrics guided/aligned management improvements of data center strategy; resulting in ~$250K in client savings in first year

      • Managed staff of >100 IT contract workers for California-based clients including full-cycle recruiting, hiring, retention, and performance evaluations for managed services, including unexpected demand for increased staff by 2.5x for last-minute contract for client, resulting in meeting contract deliverables for hardware and software deployment
      • Reduced number of product SKUs by 50% simplifying the ordering process for client and increasing revenue for company by $1M over a 30-day period / for programs in Atlanta, GA and Pleasanton, CA 

      Lucasfilm, LTD

      Project Manager / Data Center Manager

      April 2005 — July 2005

      • Created and directed master program and staff schedule for two Data Center migrations, enabling strategic visibility / accountability for management and employees to reduce program delays
      • Oversight included System Engineers, Desktop Engineers, and Onsite Construction and Patch Plan management, resulting in zero defects subsequent to move and bringing facility on board
      • Responsible for on-schedule and on-budget relocation for new, purpose-built company data center and IT systems, including Starwars.com, from San Rafael, CA to new data center in The Presidio of San Francisco, CA; management included a risk management plan for migration, resulting in risk avoidance

      Project Manager / Deployment Manager

      June 2001 — April 2005

      • Supervised data center staff (including physical presence for oversight in Italy/Germany) worldwide to deploy database, application, web servers and software in Emeryville, CA, Seattle, WA, Marburg, Germany and Siena, Italy
      • Spearheaded remediation of electronic FDA mandated records keeping requirements mandated by FDA for IT regulatory compliance for record-keeping of 25 business systems and 15 software packages company-wide, on-time and on-budget

      • Technical lead manager for build-out / deployment for data center including, physical site selection, racking, powering, cabling and relocation of existing data center services with minimal downtime and impact to research and development (R&D) scientists
